Expecting

Okay, so this is me taking a picture of a picture and it didn't come out very well. I think everybody will get the message though! For those of you who do not know already, John and I are expecting baby #2 in October. We were definitely shocked, but excited too. Colin is going to be a big brother and we find out next month if it's a girl or boy. I think it's going to be a boy b/c a lot of our friends have boys, everybody at my work in the last 5 years have had boys, and 21 out of 32 kids on our street have boys. My pregnancy has been okay so far. I was sick in the beginning, but seem better now and hope for the best for the next 6 months.

Mowing the Lawn

Colin and Daddy mowing the lawn. Colin will play with his mower outside in the rain, sleet, snow or sun. Now that Daddy and all the neighbors are out mowing their lawns, he is absolutely beside himself.

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter! I hope everybody had a good easter. Colin is upstairs snoozing as he's exhausted from Church, Brunch, and Easter Egg Hunting. We went to visit the Easter Bunny yesterday and he was the least bit scared. He was giving the bunny high fives and singing Peter Cottontail to him.

Happy 1st Birthday Merritt!

The Prisock's Visit

Kara and Joseph came to visit Maryland this past weekend. Kara, her sister, and sister-in-law are all expecting babies this summer. Her parents will have 3 new grand babies within 6 weeks of each other. Congratulations to them all! Brandon, we missed you, but hope to see you soon.

Bermuda

A trip to Bermuda a couple of weeks ago to celebrate the life of my Grandma. Here are a few pictures from the trip. I had to put a picture of the Locquat Tree because Courtney couldn't stop eating them.

Charleston, SC

Colin and I went Charleston about 3 weeks ago to visit friends. John went to Mrytle Beach to play in golf tournament with his buddies. What a weekend... I don't think words can express how bad Colin was. I can make up a lot of excuses for his behavior, but it was just awful. I have to thank Layla and Deanna for putting up with us for the weekend and I was exhausted by the end of the weekend. When we got back, I came down with the flu and had to take 3 days off from work and I couldn't eat for 2 weeks. Below are two pictures I managed to take on our trip.

Terrible Two's Already?

I must admit, Colin has been such a sweet and innoncent boy since he was born. He's definateley been our little angel child, but the last couple of weeks have been quite the turn of events. He's into hitting and he hits everything and everybody if he doesn't get his way. It started with the dog and now he's hitting all the kids at daycare (big or small) and everything is "MINE". We've tried everything to get him to stop hitting and don't know what else to do. We would gladly accept any words of advice.

Isn't he cute though?!?!

Dancing with the Stars

Sorry, had to post this. I went to the Dancing with the Stars tour a couple of weeks ago and had great floor seats. This is Drew Lachey. It was pretty neat.

Bumping Heads

I don't know if the picture will come out once it's posted on the blog, but this is what happened to Colin lastnight when he was "playing" with Daddy. They wacked heads pretty hard and Colin had the biggest knot on his forehead. He cried for a minute, but then was ready for more rough housing.

The Result...

John is not happy that I'm posting this on the blog, but I had to do it! This is the result of leaving my 4 year old niece alone with Colin unattended for 5 minutes. I peaked around the corner to see what they were doing b/c it was quiet and Madison was dressing Colin like a princess. I couldn't help but laugh :-)

January

I don't have too many new pictures to add as my camera is having problems, although it's probably just user error. Colin is doing great and is talking up a storm. He started doing "pretend" play and constantly has our pots and pans and lids and tupperware all over our house as he says he's making us dinner. It's quite amusing. He amazes us more and more everyday. He talks a lot and he has a great memory. He remembered me breaking something in the Dining room a week ago and still reminds me that "Mommy broke it." We have to be very careful with what we say as he's like a parrot and repeats everything.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!!

Happy 2008!! I hope everybody is well and everybody had a safe Christmas and New Years. We enjoyed the holidays, but it seems to go by so quick and it's such a whirlwind of events. Colin definitely enjoyed it, but I think he will be ready to get back on his schedule tomorrow. He took a 4.5 hour nap today after bringing in the New Year last night. He's a party animal :-) Below are some highlights of the holidays.

Hanging Around

Finally, I have a camera again :-) Santa came a little early this year, although I don't have many pictures yet to share. Colin went to visit Santa this week and absolutely LOVED him. Santa was quite impressed with his enthusiasm and how well he sat on his lap and smiled for the camera. I can't believe X-Mas is just around the corner. I've been trying to get all my last minute shopping done on my lunch breaks. Colin thinks wrapping paper is fun so we've had to hide everything. His daycare is closed until the new year so we have Grammy, Grandma and my stepmother flying in from Bermuda to watch him. I'll be sure to update the blog in the next week with Colin's reaction to the Christmas Festivities.

Camera

The reason I haven't updated the blog in awhile is because my camera broke, but I'm hoping Santa brings a new one for Christmas. It's been very hard not being able to take pictures especially around the holidays and it's amazing how much Colin is growing. He's quite the little boy now. Christmas is fastly approaching and Colin is taking everything in. The house is decorated with lights and the Christmas tree is up. He says goodnight to the Christmas tree every night and gives it a kiss :-) We had our first snowfall today and Colin thought the snow were bubbles and asked me to pop the snowflakes. He's off to Grammy's house this weekend as John and I spend the night in Annopolis for my office party. We'll be sure to sleep in on Sunday!! Well, I hope to update the blog again soon and hopefully with some recent pictures.

Halloween

We had a great Halloween. Colin added all the words associated to Halloween to his vocabulary in the past few weeks. Ghost, Pumpkin, Scary Hat, Candy, Trick or Treat, etc. He made a great lion and roared for candy :-) He still wants to wear his costume days later.

The Lion is trying to escape... it's a good picture of Piggy Averie and Lady Bug Madison!

Pumpkin Farm

Colin enjoyed his trip to the pumpkin patch this weekend. He picked out a pumpkin just his size. The Farm we went to had a petting zoo and he was able to feed the goats, cows, and sheep which he thought was hysterical. We also went on hayride and through the corn maze. Stay tuned for pictures of Halloween. Colin is going to be a Lion!!!

Go Tigers

We enjoyed our 2nd annual trip to Clemson with Colin this past weekend. Colin is a true Tiger Fan. He sat through the entire game despite Clemson's loss and tail-gated for 8 hours prior to the game. It was great seeing everybody and the look in the kids eyes when they walk into Death Valley is priceless.
