Ellie and Corynne

I have 3 friends that had babies within days of each other and they were all born at the same hospital. I have enjoyed getting together with them on maternity leave for play dates. This is a picture of Ellie and Corynne - 5 days apart.

Friday at the Farm

Colin's school was closed, so the boys and I went to Grandma's house for the day. The tractor babysat the boys! They were in heaven! We also visited Great-Grandmother and Grandfather and she LOVES holding baby Corynne.

Moses's Visit

The Moses's came to visit from CHS a few weeks ago. We had a house full of kids running around and it was so much fun spending time with all of our old neighbors. It is so sad that we all don't live on the same street anymore :-( I wish I had a picture of everybody together, but they were all too busy playing..Colin, Carson, Corynne, Parker, Chloe, Alex, Lucas, Max, Seth, Madi, Ave, Devin and Jordan..our house was a crazy house!

2 Months

2 Months - 13 pounds, 4 oz (94%), 23 1/2" (85%)
Corynne loves to smile and is so cute and lovable. We all adore her to pieces! The below picture is her looking at her bear mobile that she loves. She is only sleeping in 3-5hr stretches at night.

Potty Trained

Carson has been potty trained now for a few months, but I forgot to mention this wonderful milestone. He was so much easier to potty train than Colin, however, he abuses the "potty treats" and goes to the bathroom all of the time so he can get candy. I can't say he has the best aim in the toilet, but he's getting better. He wanted a skateboard when he was potty trained...dangerous...

Clemson vs. Troy

We had the Cosentino's and Kurt's over to watch the Clemson game and the kids all had on their Clemson gear. Corynne and Ellie are 4 days apart (6 wks), Henry 6 months old, Colin 5 and Carson 2. Go Tigers!!!

Colin's 1st Bee Sting

Colin's 1st Bee Sting on his neck. The boys were walking in the woods behind our house when Colin was stung by a bee. He initially cried, but got over it quickly and we are glad to report that he doesn't seem to have an allergic reaction to bees.

Last Day of Pre-School / First day of Kindergarten

The Three Amigos! Colin's last day of pre-school :-( Where does the time go? We are sad to leave such great friends and teachers at Goddard. We hope to stay in touch with Colin's BFF's Brennan and Kyle as they are all off to different elementary schools.

A day we will always remember, I only wish I had it on video. The morning started great... I was able to convince Colin to wear a collard shirt and dress a little nicer than his usual exercise attire (athletic shorts and a t-shirt).. we had lots of pictures with smiley faces and then the BUS came... OMG... The bus stop was CHAOS...there were about 40 kids plus parents so it was a bit overwhelming for a little 5 year old who already has a bit of crowd anxiety... Colin broke down and lost it... the bus driver almost had him get off the bus and it took John and I a walk on the bus to finally get him on... LOTS of tears... All the parents clapped when they finally shut the door and the bus was gone... I followed the bus to school with another mom and spied on him to make sure he was okay... He was all SMILES getting off the bus that day and has been happy going to school ever since. Colin is making new friends and seems to be enjoying his new school.

Update

So much to say, so little time it seems. I am enjoying maternity leave, I LOVE being home with the kids and spending time with my family and will be so sad to go back to work. There are so many projects I want to do, but I find it difficult to find the time to do any of them. Corynne is growing like a weed. She is now 11 lbs 14 oz and is as sweet as can be. The boys adore her. Carson calls her Corynny Bear and we joke that we need a restraining order against him because he is so into her, but we are not complaining. It's as if she has a magnet on her and the boys are attached her... Love it!

5 Weeks

Visitors

We have had a lot of visitors since Corynne was born and are very thankful for such great family and friends!

Sandra came for 10 days to help with Corynne. Our days were full with shopping, the fair, taking the kids to and from school. We were always on the go, but it was good to get out of the house. John and I were even able to get out one night to go to a freinds wedding.

Richard and Victoria came for a few days and stayed with us and met baby Corynne.

Corynne Daly Spitz with Great-Grandmother and Great-Grandfather Daly!

Fishing

The boys have been begging us to go fishing all summer with their new fishing rods. We went to great-grandmother and great-grandfathers pond and with a little help from Uncle Mark, the kids caught a ton of fish and they were all so proud of themselves!

HoCo Fair 2011

The HoCo fair is always an annual hit with kids. Madi and Ave entered in the pumpkin contest and won 1st and 2nd place! Uncle Mark also participated in the tractor contest. The kids enjoyed all the rides and I think it was sensory overload for baby Corynne.

B&O Railroad Museum

There aren't too many places we could take Corynne at 2 weeks old in the middle of the summer, but we had to get out of the house and took the family to the B&O Railroad Museum. We went on a train ride and luckily Corynne was an angel and slept the whole time.

Hayne's Boat

Mr. Haynes invited everybody to a day on his boat. The boys and John had a fabulous time and were exhausted when they got home and a little sun burnt!

The Day You Were Born

Corynne Daly Spitz
July 21, 2011 @ 8:12pm
7lbs. 8oz, 20.5 inches

A recap of the day our sweet baby girl was born. I had gone to work on Thursday (July 21) and my due date was July 22. I called the Dr. around 10am because I thought my water might have been breaking. She suggested I come to the office so she could confirm. Although my water had not broken, she suggested I go to the hospital because I was already 4cm's dilated and she would meet me over there later. I went home to pack my things and John and I headed to the hospital. I was not having contractions at this point. L&D at the hospital was very busy and they wanted to send me home b/c I wasn't haven't contractions, but they had strict orders from my Dr. to stay. John and I sat in the Triage room most of the day watching TV and we were finally moved to a room around 5pm. Dr. came in at 6pm to break my water and I immediately started feeling contractions. I asked for the epidural during the nurse shift change and suffered through contractions until about 8pm when the anestigiolist came. At that point, I told the nurses, the baby was ready to come NOW and I had a choice to push or get the epidural. Naturally, I chose the epidural. John had been sent out of the room and told to sit in the waiting room for 20mins. As soon as I got the epidural, Corynne was ready..., but John was nowhere to be found. They paged him and a stranger found him in the cafeteria waiting for a slice of pizza. As soon as he walked in the room, my doctor told me to push and baby Corynne was born! It was fast, just like with Colin and Carson.

9 Months Pregnant

This is probably one of the only pictures of me pregnant. This is the day Corynne was born before heading to the hospital. I gained a good 25lbs and had a lot of swelling in my feet. The pregnancy overall was a lot harder than with Colin & Carson, but well worth it for our sweet baby girl!

Corynne's Room

Corynne's Bedroom! John did a great job painting Corynne's room and putting it together. We compromised on the shade of purple and it turned out great. Courtney and Madi helped put her clothes together in the closet. She has more clothes than I do before she was even born!

OBX 2011

Our 5th annual trip to the Outer Banks was again a memorable one and sad it is over. We had so much fun with cousins from Colorado, The Ueltschy's (x3 families) and Babs and John. The kids all got along great and it's always amazing to see how much they have grown from the previous year. Baby Corynne wasn't born at the OBX and we are still anxiously awaiting her arrival. So many pictures to post from the OBX that I will make them into a picture book.

Colin's Pre-school Graduation

Colin actually missed his official pre-school graduation because we were at the beach, so John and I attended the rehearsal. It was so cute and brought tears to my eyes. It will be sad at the end of the summer when all his freinds will be split up and going to different Kindergarten's. He has made some great friends and has grown along the way. Mr. Matt and Ms. Sandra have been great teacher's this past year and we can't thank them enough for everything they have done.

The Krauszer's Visit

Yeah!, the Krauszer's came to Maryland to visit! It had been too long, but the kids got along great. We spent one day in Annapolis and went to the Baltimore Aquarium. We had great food, laughs and a great time catching up. We are hoping the Krauszer's move back to the northeast, but will visit them next in Florida.

Hershey Park

Our 2nd annual Memorial Day weekend trip to Hershey Park this year was a little different than last year. I was 7 months pregnant walking around in the hot heat all day and couldn't ride any rides :-( I don't think I could do that again even if I tried. Carson was good with riding the little rides, but some of the bigger ones scared him. Colin on the other hand, rode upside down roller coasters and didn't want to leave!
